Although events and activities are different at this time, there’s still plenty to see and do this winter in Kelowna. We’ve put together a list of Kelowna itinerary ideas for guests so you can have the best (and safest) winter possible while in Kelowna.
Following our guide, you can completely fill up a long weekend and make tons of great memories in the process.
Kelowna Itinerary Ideas for Guests: Day 1
One of the easiest ways to fill up a long weekend itinerary is to spend a day at Big White. Bring your ski or snowboard gear or simply rent what you need from their rental shop at the resort. Then it’s time to hit the slopes.
Feeling rustier than an abandoned car on your ski or snowboarding skills? Don’t worry, you can de-rust them with a lesson from Big White’s Ski School. Their trained professionals offer lessons for all ages.
There are 16 different lifts and over 100 runs to choose from. You’re sure to find your favourite way down the mountain for whatever difficulty you enjoy skiing at with runs of all levels.
If downhill snowboarding or skiing isn’t your style, no problem. You can still see the winter wonderland of the mountain with 25km of cross-country skiing trails.
Take a break at lunch with any of the excellent restaurants dotting the hill. When you’re done for the day, there are plenty of après-ski activities and entertainment to enjoy as well like ice-skating and nighttime fireworks.
Day 2: Exploring Kelowna’s Culture
If you haven’t already tried ice-skating in Kelowna’s downtown, day 2 is the perfect opportunity to do so. It’s a great way to stay active while enjoying the downtown atmosphere.
When you get hungry, there are a ton of craft breweries to go for tastings at. Discover your new favourite craft beer or just enjoy the specials of each location.
For something completely different why not take in Kelowna’s sights from horseback? Kelowna Stables at Myra Canyon Ranch offers trail rides for both beginner and advanced riders. Explore Kelowna’s gorgeous winter forests and lake ridges through winding trails around the area.
Last Day: A Bit of This a Bit of That
To end your itinerary for your long weekend, finish your trip with a winter wine tour. That’s right, even in winter you can still enjoy the best of Kelowna’s wine country.
Check out each winery and try some of their unique winter-themed wines. With such a huge variety to choose from you’re sure to find one you love and/or purchase for later drinking.
Just like that, you have a complete Kelowna winter experience that’s sure to produce many good times with friends and/or family.
